I have completely neglected Fashion Week Spring Summer 2006 in New York right now, but I am back on track today, and will show you a few of my favorite pieces form a personal favorite, Diane von Furstenburg. Long time companion, and now wife of the media mogul Barry Diller, veteran designer Furstenburg's show on Sunday evening was fabulous as usual:
"I hope I'm on trend - I always show near the beginning of the week so I better be right," she tells us. And, without giving too much away, I am pretty sure she's bang on. "I've called the collection La Dolce Diva and it is all about Mediterranean elegance at the end of the Sixties in Rome. Think Grace Kelly and Maria Callas - it's aristocracy, movie stars and the beginning of the paparazzi."
To me it looked a lot more of the old glam Furstenburg, archived from her three long decades in the international spotlight, spiced with a Roman theme of multicolored florals in gorgeous silks and chiffons. My absolute favorite is the yellow silk dress shown here. Fabulous.
Perfect for a summer day in Roma... would have been ideal for the last few hot summer days in New York. But forget it for now, delivery is December ...sigh.
I always love her collection and this season was no exception. Lots of very Italian looking florals, light and airy, with sexy lines that border on Napoleonesque decoltes, as seen in my favourite piece on the left. Ever present were the usual figure hugging cross over classics, staight out of her Studio 54 days, in bold black and white Botanicals, and this time in some very bright 'La Dolce Vita' floral colours.
This season the classic wrap over has evolved to a bolder design than ever before, until next season of course...
I have to admit, this is my kind of look. I love it..

Stunning, I love the Italian summer flower prints.

'My Cousin Vinney', o.k. you definitely got lost in the wrong URL!! (LOL)
Hmm, perhaps you are right do you think I should do a post for Judge Roberts' wardrobe for the hearings? We need some light relief from Katrina at this point. I have to investigate the possibilities....

OK Just when i thought I was safe, this GIRL stuff appears.
I have a suggestion: why don't you brighten up the courtroom à la "My Cousin Vinny" with some fashion pointers for the legal community. Crank up the vibe, bring in the color. It's an arena anyway.
